AIM Tours

Excursions will be held on Saturday, 7th of August 2010 between breakfast and lunch. Have a look at our ideas:

  • Berlin Wall Tour explores the remainings of the Wall, the old border between East and West, as well as a visit at Checkpoint Charlie. Have a look at www.berlin.de/orte/sehenswuerdigkeiten/checkpoint-charlie/index.en.php. The tour takes about 2 hours and leaves you at Checkpoint Charlie Museum. You can explore the museum at your own pace (1-2 hours). Costs are 40€
  • Multicultural Facettes of Kreuzberg. Inhabitants of Kreuzberg have vast cultural backgrounds. The tour is arranged by four young women who grew up and still live here. They will explore with you the arrangements undertaken and also show you the beneficial side of Kreuzberg. Website www.xberg-tag.de/index.html is in German only, but the tour will be arranged in English. Aninia our National Secretary is your host on this tour. Intercultural lunch is included in this tour and you will return in-time for the following sessions. The tour is limited to 25 people, will take 4-5 hours and costs are 25€
  • Swimming in the Havel. Johannesstift has a small beach and place to swim at the Havel. It is in 20 minutes walking distance and Helga will be your tour guide. This tour is offered for no extra costs, but only if the weather permits.
  • Stay at the Hotel - for no extra costs
  • Go for a one hour jogging tour through the forest in Spandau. Meet with Ute in front of the hotel at 10am. You don't need to sign up for this, just show up.

Please sign up for an excursion in the AIM Application Form, latest until June 30th with the Travel Information Form.

We further provide maps, train and bus timetables for your convenience. Some of you might just want to hop on a bus, stroll around in the city, and see some of its highlights. Enjoy your time.
